															Engineering Acoustics
To address the trend of declining acoustics education at the master’s level and to integrate the subject into the curriculum at TU Braunschweig, this project focuses on developing an international and hybrid master’s degree program. The goal is to train skilled acoustic engineers to meet future workforce demands. The program structure, which involves lecturers from various partner institutions, heavily incorporates digital teaching and learning methods. These methods include Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs), asynchronous learning through teaching videos, and interactive worksheets such as Jupyter notebooks, along with an interactive learning platform. Digitalisation of the course facilitates location-independent learning, thereby promoting internationalisation. The project explores possibilities for the creation of teaching and learning materials for different formats, the efficient synchronisation and integration of content, and the effective combination of online teaching with face-to-face study.
As part of the project, an introductory module called “Basic Course in Acoustics” is being developed to acquaint students with the fundamentals of the master’s program and to enable lateral entry into the subject. This module, designed as a MOOC, can also serve as a compact lecture for students in other degree programs or as in-service training.
